California Desert Adventure Session
Malachi & Kaleb's adventure session in the California desert resulted in the most adorable, fun couple's portraits with their dog, Bunji.
We spent sunrise exploring the Alabama Hills, at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains, and found some super unique landscapes along the way!

Sunrise in the California Hills
We met up for Malachi and Kaleb's California desert adventure session just before sunrise. The light all morning was absolutely stunning – the desert was golden against the purple Sierra Nevadas. And when the sun came up, it looked like the mountains were literally on fire.
The couple explored the interesting rock formations of the Alabama Hills, helping each other climb up boulders and posing with Bunji in front of the sunrise.
Adventures with their pup
I absolutely love when couples bring their dog (or dogs!) along for their elopement or adventure session. It creates a lot of fun, candid moments – like Malachi and Kaleb laughing at Bunji's goofy expressions.
If you want to include your dog in your elopement day or couple's portraits, I'm always happy to chat about planning a dog-friendly adventure! Before I was a photographer, I actually worked as a vet tech – so I love the opportunity to cuddle with dogs while doing my dream job.
Portraits in a Cave
Alabama Hills has so many interesting boulders and rock formations – and you can even find caves inside some of them!
Malachi and Kaleb had fun climbing the rock walls and hanging out in this cool cave for some portraits.
I love how different – and super sweet – these portraits were with the unique backdrop of this California desert adventure session.
