Death Valley Elopement

Allison & Britley spent their intimate elopement day exploring one of California's most unique landscapes: Death Valley.
Located in the Mojave Desert, Death Valley is both the lowest elevation point in the U.S. and the hottest recorded place on Earth.
The extreme desert creates so many unusual backdrops – you could almost believe Alison & Britley's Death Valley elopement took place on another planet.
Hey there! I'm Sam, Your Destination Elopement Photographer & Planner
I absolutely adore Death Valley (and all of California's wild places!), and I would be thrilled to help make your elopement just as amazing as this one.

Afternoon in the Desert
We kicked off Allison and Britley's Death Valley elopement in the late afternoon. Allison's hair and makeup artist did final touches and adjusted her veil, and then we took some portraits of the couple exploring this colorful desert canyon.
One common misconception about eloping in the middle of nature is that you'll have to give up vendors like professional hair and makeup or florals. But that's not the case at all!
When we plan your adventure elopement, I can help you find vendors that will meet us anywhere – even in places you need GPS coordinates to reach.
Death Valley Vows
The light for Allison and Britley's intimate ceremony was gorgeous, as golden hour began in the desert. They shared vows during a sweet, totally private moment – one big advantage of choosing an adventure elopement in nature.
And in Death Valley National Park, as long as you apply for a special use permit in advance, you can elope almost anywhere in the park! It's easy to get far away from any other visitors for your Death Valley wedding ceremony.

Exploring at Sunset
After their ceremony, Allison and Britley explored more of Death Valley's stunning landscapes as the sun began to go down.
Timing is a huge part of planning an elopement in Death Valley! Especially because the area can have such extreme temperatures, considering time of day is essential for both lighting and ability to adventure.
When you hire me to help plan your Death Valley elopement, I'll create a detailed timeline for your day that takes all these factors into account, and includes as much time as possible for stress-free exploring with your partner.
Desert First Dance
One super cute detail Allison and Britley included in their Death Valley elopement day was a first dance while sharing a pair of headphones.
I captured these sweet moments between the couple as they danced to one of their favorite songs, and after grabbed some detail shots of their rings, vow books, and florals in the sand.

Cocktails + Stars
Allison and Britley wrapped up their Death Valley elopement by making their favorite cocktail out of the back of their car, and then toasting under the desert night sky.
Making drinks with your partner is a fun way to have your own "cocktail hour" during an elopement in nature!
