Idaho Springs MicroWedding
Jamie and Ben’s Idaho Springs microwedding merged elements of an adventure elopement with a traditional wedding, proving that you really can have it all.
Jamie and Ben’s initial inquiry emphasized wanting their day to balance spending time with family and adventuring just the two of them. We worked together to craft a timeline that met all their priorities, and I think we nailed their vision completely!

First Look &
Private Hike
We started off the morning with some getting-ready and detail photos. Then Jamie and Ben shared a first look at the Club Hotel—a gorgeous, historic boutique hotel and my favorite place to stay in Idaho Springs!
The first activity on the timeline for this Idaho Springs microwedding was a private hike for the bride and groom with their adorable dog, Obi. This was a perfect way to start off the morning because Jamie and Ben got to spend some private, quality time together.
We took some great photos of the couple and their dog, caught some epic mountain views (including a view of the mountain where they held their ceremony later in the day), and even touched some snow in August!
Ceremony
With Family
After the hike, we met up with Jamie and Ben’s family for their ceremony and a picnic. They only invited immediate family, so the ceremony was super private and personal, with Jamie’s twin sister officiating.

The couple hired a violinist (Beth with Kaleidoscope Music), which was such a fun touch for their ceremony. Another special personal detail was the knot-tying unity ceremony after their vows.
Jamie and Ben found some memorable ways to honor their loved ones in their Idaho Springs microwedding. Each of their family members signed the back of their marriage certificate (even their littlest nieces and nephews!), and we built space into the timeline to take pictures of each of their siblings’ families.

After the ceremony Jamie and Ben shared a first dance, and spent some time dancing with family.

Dinner in Idaho Springs
Post-ceremony and picnic we headed back to Idaho Springs for an early dinner at Mountain Prime. One great thing about having a microwedding is the option to have a restaurant reception. We all got to chat and share some toasts over a delicious meal.

Sunset & Blue Hour
After dinner, we headed back up the mountain for sunset and blue hour photos. We found such cool lighting at the summit, and Jamie and Ben got to spend some fun, private moments as newlyweds.
Milky Way Views
We warmed up in the car for a bit until the Milky Way came out, then took some stunning astro photos. Spending time with your partner under the stars is such a magical way to end a wedding or elopement day! We even caught some views of the golden glow of Denver behind the Mount Blue Sky sign.
