Ocean City Boardwalk Couple's Portraits

Natalie & Joe's couple's portraits on the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland proved that there's nothing wrong with a little friendly competition.
The couple braved roller coasters, rode the ferris wheel, and bested each other at carnival games during their photo session. The result was slightly silly, extremely adorable photos that captured their relationship dynamic perfectly.
Hey there! I'm Sam, Your Destination Elopement Photographer & Planner
I know and adore Ocean City (and the rest of the Maryland coast!), and I would be thrilled to help make your elopement or adventure session just as amazing as Natalie & Joe's.

Carousels and Carnival Rides
When we started chatting about their couple's session, Natalie and Joe mentioned how much they enjoy goofing off together. So I thought a little "return to childhood" with carnival rides and games on the Ocean City boardwalk would be the perfect setting for their couple's photos.
We started the session by hopping on the carousel, where Natalie and Joe picked their favorite animals. Then the couple raced down the "fun slide" and took a spin on a few carnival rides.
I loved their willingness to be silly and goofy with each other. I stand by the fact that couple's portraits don't have to be fancy or overly pose-y to be amazing!
Also, taking photos while clinging onto a spinning ride was definitely a new (and fun!) challenge for me.

Friendly Competition
After getting a little dizzy, Natalie and Joe decided to determine once and for all which of them was better at aiming a water gun.
I think most couples have a least a little competitive energy – and tapping into that is a great way to get comfortable during your couple's portraits and create some fun, authentic interactions.
In the end, Natalie and Joe were both winners during their Ocean City boardwalk couple's portraits – they left with a cute stuffed cow prize (and some pretty cool photos)!
Ferris Wheel Fun
Once they were done battling it out with water guns, Natalie and Joe took a ride on the ferris wheel and got a view of the whole boardwalk.
The golden hour lighting was perfect, way up above the boardwalk with the backdrop of the ocean. It also allowed for some peaceful moments in the middle of this Ocean City couple's session.

Love on the Boardwalk
We wrapped up Natalie and Joe's Ocean City couple's portraits with a stroll through the carnival and ice cream on the boardwalk.
Natalie and Joe were such a fun pair to photograph – when a couple's love for each other is so obvious in the way they interact, it makes my job of capturing it easy!
