Page, Arizona Elopement

Nicole & Andy off-roaded, hiked, and camped during their adventurous elopement day in Page, Arizona.
The couple had a big wedding back home in Maryland earlier in the year, but still wanted the experience of a private elopement. So we planned an all-day adventure for the two of them to explore and share personal vows while on their honeymoon.
Hey there! I'm Sam, Your Arizona Elopement Photographer & Planner
I know and adore the Page area (and the rest of Arizona & Utah!), and I would be thrilled to help make your elopement just as epic as Nicole & Andy's.

Off-Roading Adventure
I met up with Nicole and Andy in Arizona the day before their elopement. Because we were starting early the next day at a remote location that required off-roading, we wanted to make the journey in daylight.
So we off-roaded into our campsite together – and it was a good thing we did, because they had a tire issue on the way in. Fortunately, I had an air compressor with me, and we were able to patch it up and continue on!
We got to our campsite a little later than expected, but ultimately in one piece! Then we all got some rest before an early start the next day.
Private Vows at Dawn
We kicked off Nicole and Andy's Page, Arizona elopement the next morning at the crack of dawn. The couple got ready in their car during blue hour, and then made their way down to the edge of the cliff for sunrise.
We'd woken up on the edge of a truly stunning overlook, and I stayed up above to grab a few shots of Nicole and Andy walking down to their ceremony spot. I love doing this to give couples space, and to grab epic wide shots of them in the landscape they are about to share vows in! N & A had a completely private vow exchange – exactly what they were looking for.

The Sweetest Surprise
Immediately after their ceremony, Nicole and Andy surprised me (which doesn't happen often)... with a pregnancy announcement!
I was completely shocked, and thought it was so sweet that they planned how to share the news with me. We of course took some cute announcement/maternity photos throughout our adventures!
Pretty Views + Cool Rocks
After the ceremony, Nicole and Andy wandered the area exploring different nooks and crannies. It was so pretty there – we could've spent forever just wandering.
But when a storm started rolling in, we knew it was time to pack up and move on. So we started off-roading back out, and stopped at some more cool spots along the way.

A Lil Midday Hike
Next on our itinerary for this Page, Arizona elopement was a short hike not too far away. We found some cool rock formations, an unexpected cave, and on the way back, Nicole caught a tumbleweed in her dress.
I think this is one of the best things about adventure elopements! Even though we did a ton of planning beforehand, we were still surprised by the amazing things we found throughout the day. Part of the fun is getting to explore, and being able to pivot if you find something cool and unexpected!
SlickRock + Sunset
After our hike, we grabbed lunch, and then drove a couple hours to our next location. This area is really cool because it's basically all slickrock, so we could explore wherever we wanted without breaking Leave No Trace guidelines.
The timing for Nicole and Andy's elopement was perfect because they'd already received their full wedding gallery from their big wedding back home. So we were able to fill in some of the coverage gaps that naturally happen on a busy wedding day, and grab a few details shots they'd missed!

Adventurous Honeymoon
After the sun set, I said goodbye to Nicole and Andy, and they continued their adventures with a multi-day backpacking trip in Zion National Park for their honeymoon!
Nicole + Andy's Review
We absolutely loved working with Sam! Our experience was possibly just a little different than her typical client as we were already married when we met with her and wanted to exchange our vows in more private, intimate, and adventurous setting that spoke more to us as a couple - rather than in front of 100 friends and family at our wedding.
Sam really made the experience so wonderful and just perfect!! We got exactly what we hoped for out of our day with her. We all camped at the same spot the night before, woke up to exchange our vows at sunrise, then spent the rest of the day exploring multiple locations around the Utah and Arizona border where she captured some of the most beautiful photos of us being together.
We were already legally married for about 6 months when we exchanged our vows, so we also had the additional surprise of announcing our pregnancy at that time. Sam captured some beautiful maternity shots for us at the same time making our journey together even more special.

Sam has such an eye, not only for the best scenery, but also for the best flattering angles of her subjects - we love every single photo we received from her!

We can't express enough how much of a pleasure it was to work with Sam and truly just hang out with her the whole day! We had so much fun and it felt just like meeting up with an old friend and shooting the breeze while hiking around town!
Sam has such an eye, not only for the best scenery, but also for the best flattering angles of her subjects - we love every single photo we received from her, of which there are hundreds! We cannot recommend Maye.Be Take A Photo enough!
